The need to make decisions within seconds has become a reality for security, platform, and development teams. In distributed environments — with dynamic applications, multiple APIs, and critical protection services constantly active — having complete visibility into operational events is what separates early detection of costly incidents from performance degradation.

This is the context in which Azion Real-Time Events (RTE) reaches General Availability (GA), establishing a new standard for real-time event monitoring and analysis.

RTE provides complete, rapidly updated data that is accessible in a single product, without sampling, and with full flexibility through the Console or GraphQL API. Keep reading to learn more!

What is Azion Real-Time Events?

Real-Time Events is Azion’s solution for tracking, analyzing, and querying events generated by applications, APIs, and security services. It was designed to deliver accurate and up-to-date information, with no data loss, covering every layer of your operation.

With RTE, you can:

  • View events in real time;
  • Access 100% of your data, with no sampling;
  • Investigate failures, errors, and unexpected behaviors;
  • Detect threats quickly;
  • Correlate events from different sources in a single place;
  • Analyze RAW logs for advanced debugging.

In an environment of distributed applications and increasingly sophisticated threats, fast and informed decisions require complete data — and RTE delivers exactly that.

How does Real-Time Events work?

Real-Time Events collects, organizes, and makes available the events generated by your applications and Azion services practically in real time. It operates in a simple and efficient way:

1. Automatic event capture

Data from Azion Applications, WAF, CDN, Functions, DNS, and other services is continuously collected without requiring agents or additional pipelines.

2. Organized into data sources

Each event type is grouped into a data source (such as HTTP Requests, Functions, Tiered Cache, or DNS), making precise searches and detailed investigations easier.

3. Low-latency availability

Events become accessible quickly, allowing teams to identify unexpected behaviors, errors, and potential threats close to real time.

4. Seven-day retention with no sampling

All events are preserved for 168 hours — essential for performance analysis, debugging, and security incident investigations.

5. Query via Console or GraphQL API

You can explore data visually through the Azion Console or automate queries via GraphQL for integrations with SIEMs, internal pipelines, or custom dashboards.

Key benefits of Real-Time Events

RTE was built to increase operational clarity, accelerate response times, and improve reliability in modern environments. Its main benefits include:

1. Complete data with no event loss

No event is discarded — even during high traffic — enabling more accurate analysis and audits.

2. Faster detection and response

With an average latency of approximately 40 seconds, errors, anomalies, and threats are identified almost immediately.

3. Unified operational visibility

Events from applications, APIs, and security services are consolidated into a single product, simplifying correlation and reducing tool fragmentation.

4. More efficient debugging and troubleshooting

Access to RAW logs and advanced queries accelerates investigations and reduces mean time to resolution (MTTR).

5. Full flexibility for investigation and integration

Use the Console for quick analysis or GraphQL for automation and integrations with tools like SIEMs, Grafana, or Splunk via Data Stream.

6. Cost control and predictability

Pricing based on Data Scan and Storage brings transparency and helps teams manage consumption effectively. Learn more in Pricing.

Where Real-Time Events makes the biggest impact

RTE is essential across several operational workflows, including:

Performance optimization: Identify bottlenecks quickly and improve application behavior.

Real-time security: Detects and responds to threats efficiently, including low-intensity attacks or suspicious traffic patterns.

Troubleshooting and debugging: Diagnose issues accurately using detailed logs and targeted queries.

Incident management: Track impacts and changes in real time, simplifying incident analysis.

Data-driven development: Use real behavioral insights to set priorities, fix issues, and evolve features.

How Real-Time Events strengthens application security

Security teams often face attacks that are difficult to detect when logs are sampled or distributed across multiple tools. With complete, rapidly updated data, it becomes possible to:

  • Identify suspicious patterns within seconds;
  • Monitor low-volume and low-frequency attacks;
  • Detect sophisticated bots and abnormal traffic;
  • Respond before an incident becomes critical.

The combination of complete data + fast updates + unified access represents a major step forward for modern security operations.

With Real-Time Events, Azion reinforces its commitment to delivering robust, fast, and reliable observability for modern applications, ensuring security, performance, and efficiency in distributed environments.
