Throughout this series, we’ve explored what you can build with Hobby, how to take a project into commercial and production use with Pro, and how Enterprise can benefit operations that need customized terms.
Now, the question is straightforward: which of these plans matches the current stage of your project?
The answer depends on more than the size of your application or your ambitions. It depends on the project’s purpose, usage profile, and operational requirements.
The question isn’t “Which plan is best?” but “What stage is your project in?”
Each Azion Plan serves a different purpose. Hobby is designed for personal projects, learning, and experimentation. Pro supports commercial and production applications with more capacity and on-demand usage. Enterprise provides customized terms for operations that can benefit from commitments, governance, and specialized support.
All three plans provide access to the range of GA products and features included in the offering, within their respective limits and conditions. Because they are all part of the Azion Platform, your project can evolve within the same environment.
Plan | Best suited for | Main benefit |
Hobby | Personal projects, learning, and experimentation | Start for free and explore the platform in practice |
Pro | Commercial and production applications | More capacity, on-demand usage, and spend controls |
Enterprise | Operations with customized requirements | Cost optimization, governance, capacity planning, and specialized support |
Hobby: for learning, experimenting, and building personal projects
Choose Hobby if:
- you want to learn or test a new stack;
- you’re building a personal project for your portfolio or resume;
- you want to experiment with an idea before deciding whether to take it further;
- the project has no commercial or production purpose;
- usage remains within the plan’s limits.
Hobby is free and intended for personal projects, learning, and experimentation. It should not be used for commercial or production applications. When your project is ready to run in production, serve customers, or generate revenue, Pro is the next step.
You can start with templates for resumes, blogs, portfolios, study chatbots, and e-commerce prototypes. You can also explore different Azion Platform capabilities without starting with infrastructure configuration.

Pro: for commercial or production use
Choose Pro if:
- the application is ready to run in production;
- the project will serve customers or generate revenue;
- you need higher included quotas;
- the operation needs to continue consuming resources on demand;
- configurable spend limits are important for tracking costs.
Pro lets you take what you built on Hobby into a commercial or production operation on the same platform. In addition to providing more included capacity, the plan allows the application to continue consuming resources on demand after exceeding its included quotas.
Configurable spend limits help you track usage and define how far it can go. This gives you the flexibility to handle user growth and traffic fluctuations while maintaining greater control over costs.

Enterprise: for terms tailored to your operation
Choose Enterprise if:
- your usage is significant and predictable enough to make a usage or spend commitment financially worthwhile;
- your operation requires Reserved Capacity;
- multiple teams, brands, or business units need separate Workspaces and access controls;
- certifications and compliance evidence are part of your vendor assessment and approval process;
- your company needs to purchase advanced support or Professional Services;
- customized limits and commercial terms make planning easier.
Enterprise is not defined solely by application size. It becomes relevant when the operation’s usage profile, organizational structure, or requirements can deliver concrete benefits through a customized model.
Through Reserved Capacity or a Savings Plan, for example, a company can make a usage or spend commitment in exchange for more favorable terms. The plan also makes it possible to tailor Workspaces, access controls, capacity, support, and commercial terms to the organization’s needs.
This does not mean every growing application needs to move to Enterprise. Pro can continue supporting the operation for as long as that model remains suitable. Enterprise should be considered when customization provides technical, operational, or financial benefits.

Your project can evolve on the same platform
Choosing a new plan does not require moving your project to another platform. Workloads, tools, and processes remain on the Azion Platform while limits and usage terms adapt to the project’s new stage.
A project can therefore begin as an experiment on Hobby, move into commercial use on Pro, and adopt customized Enterprise terms when doing so becomes advantageous.
Traffic volume is not the only factor that determines this evolution. The project’s purpose also matters:
- a personal project can remain on Hobby while it is used for learning and experimentation;
- a commercial or production application should use Pro, even if it still receives little traffic;
- an operation can consider Enterprise when its usage, governance, compliance, or support requirements justify a customized model.
If you’re still unsure
Ask yourself these three questions:
- Is the project still personal and focused on learning or experimentation, with no commercial or production use? Start with Hobby.
- Is the application ready to run in production or serve a commercial purpose? Pro is the next step.
- Would customized terms benefit your usage profile, organizational structure, or operational requirements? Consider talking to the Azion team about Enterprise.
The right plan is the one that meets your project’s current purpose and requirements. As those needs evolve, the project can move forward within the same platform.
Quick Questions
Do I need to decide now which plan I’ll use forever? No. Your project can move between plans as its purpose and requirements change.
Can I test an idea on Hobby before deciding whether to turn it into a product? Yes, as long as it is a personal project with no commercial or production purpose and remains within the plan’s limits. If the project evolves into commercial or production use, you’ll need to move to Pro.
When should I move from Hobby to Pro? When the project is ready to run in production, serve customers, generate revenue, or take on another commercial or production purpose.
What happens if my usage exceeds the Hobby limits? If this happens consistently, you’ll need to upgrade to Pro. Otherwise, your account may be subject to restrictions.
How does Pro help control costs? Additional usage is billed on demand, and configurable spend limits help you track usage and define how far it can go.
Does every large-scale application need to use Enterprise? No. Enterprise should be considered when commitments, reserved capacity, governance, compliance, specialized support, or customized terms provide concrete benefits to the operation.
Is there a plan between Pro and Enterprise? No. Azion’s current offering consists of Hobby, Pro, and Enterprise.
